Abstract:

In this conversation between the RHJ and Raquel Rolnik, she reflects on the makings of her latest book Urban Warfare (2019), discusses the importance of a commitment to a form of intellectual praxis that cannot be detached from direct engagement with housing struggles, and offers insights on the challenges and opportunities brought forward by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Raquel Rolnik is Professor of Planning and Architecture at the University of São Paulo (USP), former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing, and Coordinator of the Evictions Observatory. Michele Lancione is member of the Radical Housing Journal Editorial Collective.
